NMI Summit 2026 Speaker
Professor Kostas Tsintzas, PhD
Professor Kostas Tsintzas is Professor of Human Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, University of Nottingham. Kostas studies the metabolic and molecular aspects of lipid-induced insulin resistance, obesity, diabetes, and ageing. He focuses on the interplay of carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism at rest and during exercise, as well as nutrient-gene interactions in adipose tissue, liver, and muscle.
Professor Kostas Tsintzas has been involved in human clinical trials examining intermittent fasting and fasting mimicking diets, with a focus on their impact on physiology and metabolic functions related to cardiometabolic health and autophagy.
