Application for Speaker and Lecture Proposal
The Nutritional Medicine Institute (NMI) holds a high standard for continuing professional education and development (CPD). This application form can be used to submit your speaker and lecture proposal. We require that the requesting individuals, organisations, or parties, comply with the standards for conflict of interest and disclosure set forth in these guidelines.

Standards for Conflict of Interest and Disclosure
All CPD proposals must be independent and free of commercial bias, such as the mention of commercial products and services. An individual or entity with commercial interest (i.e., producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing nutrition or healthcare goods or services) may apply if the standards for conflict of interest and disclosure as outlined below have been met:
- Affiliations such as institutional, research, charitable, clinical, and related associations must be provided in the application form below. If your proposal is accepted affiliations will be clearly disclosed to the audience.
- Deceleration of financial interests or personal relationships that may influence the work must be made. If relevant financial interests or personal relationships are not disclosed NMI reserves the right to retract your work. If your proposal is accepted decelerations of interest will be clearly disclosed to the audience.
- Sponsorship is permitted if sponsors have no editorial control or influence over your lecture development and delivery. Sponsor logos cannot be displayed in your lecture. You can thank your sponsors verbally and in a slide.
- Products and services, including but not limited to dietary supplements, personal care products, medical devices, laboratory services, e-books, podcasts, mentorship, online forums, e-marketing registration, events, courses, and training programs, cannot be mentioned verbally or in the presentation without prior permission from NMI. Printed books, textbooks, and peer-reviewed medical journal publications can be mentioned freely without prior permission.
Not for Profit Education
Unbiased CPD is the primary purpose of NMI education and the advertising of of goods and services, especially those that may impact the quality and integrity of educational content, is not permitted.
- You may not use your event to advertise goods and services.
- You may not use your event to make money or raise funds.
Exceptions may be made for charities, educational institutes, and other circumstances with prior permission from NMI and must conform with the standards for conflict of interest and disclosure.
Please Note Before Applying
Most of our speakers are pre-selected by our review process and advisory board i.e., not via application. Applications are more likely to be considered if they are of exceptional interest and speakers demonstrate notable expertise in the subject area.
- Lecture proposals should concisely describe topics relevant to clinical practice in a particular focus area.
- Lecture proposals should be based on the speaker’s own research or area of expertise.
- Speakers should have verifiable credentials to teach their subject area, including post-graduate qualifications, specialist practice, and authorship of original peer-reviewed research.
- Speakers should be independent and free of commercial bias that may impact the quality and integrity of educational content, such as affiliations with commercial products and services.
