Katie Sheen, MA Ed
Having discovered Zen mindfulness in 2001, Katie first began weaving practices into her teaching whilst leading the complex case analysis module, MSc Nutritional Therapy, at University of Worcester in 2011.
In 2016 she joined the course leaders’ team for Plum Village UK, the mindfulness tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh in which her personal practice is based. In 2021 she also qualified as an accredited Breathworks teacher, offering the secular ‘Mindfulness for Health’ course in both public and corporate settings.
In 2023 her short story of how mindfulness transformed the experience of her cancer diagnosis in 2015 was published in the anthology ‘Tears Become Rain” and she also
contributed recipes to the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) ‘Colourful Kitchen Collection’ Alumni Cookbook in 2024.
Katie currently works in the Education Team at Pharma Nord UK, and is collaborating with Dr.Jutta Tobias Mortlock of City St.George’s, University of London on the development of Team Mindfulness Training, including as an Honorary Lecturer on the Mindful Leadership module, MSc Occupational Psychology.
