NMI Webinar

Immunology for
Non-Immunologists

with Dr. Samuel Yanuck

Date: Tuesday 17th March 2026
Time: 3pm (GMT)
Location: Online (Zoom)

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) approved by the CPD Certification Service (CPD UK), the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Nutritional Therapists of Ireland (NTOI).

Webinar description:

Most patients in functional medicine practice have patterns of chronic illness that contain major immunological components. Inflammation, autoimmunity, food sensitivities, dysbiosis, viral, bacterial and fungal burdens, mast cell issues, environmental allergy, mould issues, sinusitis, arthritis, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and a host of other common problems all have their basis in immune system dysfunction.

So how do you start? What do you learn first? As usual, you’ll help the majority of people if you know the core elements of the process. You don’t need to master all of immunology to learn to recognize some key patterns and to have a repertoire of high-value tools that you can use to help lots of people.

We will explore the immunology underlying the presentations you see all the time in your practice and give you strategies for addressing the most important points of leverage in these cases. We will dig into autoimmune problems, allergies and asthma, brain fog, and fatigue. We’ll talk about the immunological basis for what you’re seeing, talk about the mechanisms underlying these illnesses, and give you tools to address the key points of leverage in these cases.

Learning objectives:

  • Recognise key immunological patterns at the root of inflammation, autoimmunity, brain fog and fatigue.
  • Understand the connections between stress, body inflammation, and brain inflammation.
  • Understand the connections between T cell polarisation, responsiveness to cortisol, and vitamin D status.
  • Build a repertoire of options for proper case management.
